Trash to Treasures event, May 15

Saturday, May 15, 2021 - 7:30am

Like it has been said, “Someone’s trash can be someone else’s treasure.”  And so, an annual event sponsored by the Lake Mills Chamber was born.
The Lake Mills Chamber is hosting their annual Trash to Treasure event this Saturday, May 15, from 8 a.m.-Noon at Oakwood Park in Lake Mills. Residents may drop off their items in the shelter houses at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
All items will be offered for free. Your gently used “trash” can become someone else’s “treasure.” The public is welcome to stop and find a free treasure.
Items not accepted are: clothing, large appliances, electronics (such as TVs and computers), oil, paint, batteries, household chemicals and cleaners, or tires. All items need to be gently used and in working condition and must follow the city’s guidelines for Spring Clean-up.
There is no rain date, but the event will continue if it is just a light rain. The city will discard all leftover items after the event is over.
Cassie Johnson, Executive Director for the LMCDC commented, “We are grateful for the city’s willingness to support this event. They help us dispose of leftover items, which we very much appreciate.”
