With the 2019 volleyball season fast approaching, this year’s Middle School Volleyball Camp has been announced.
The camp will be held next week, Aug. 13, 15, and 16, in the LMHS gymnasium. Interested parties can find additional information on the camp registration forms, which should be turned in to Coach Jim Boehmer prior to camp. Along with the registration forms, participants will also need to include a registration fee for the camp. The registration fee is used to help cover the prizes, drinks, and snacks that will be provided each day of the camp.
The camp is open to all players, both current and new. Those interested in participating, but not necessarily playing, are welcome to become team managers. The announcement notes, that even those able to attend the camp for only one or two days are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Other activities for middle school volleyball players include open high school practices. Coach Boehmer will have practice times to give to the girls who attend the middle school camp.
Boehmer notes that the open practices are meant to encourage the middle school players to be active, and the high school players to be better role models.
On Aug. 21-22, there will also be Middle School Open Gym times, which will begin at 3:30 p.m. each day. These practices are not required, and will last for about two hours each day. Players are encouraged to attend these non-required practices for as long as they can on as many days as they can.
The first required seventh and eighth grade practice of the 2019 volleyball season will be Friday, Aug. 23, at 3:30 p.m. in the Middle School Gym. Players should have turned in their physical and Permission to Practice forms prior to this date.
