Hawks roll to second straight title

The TIC Hawks won The Ambush Harwood Classic that took place at NIACC, May 19-20. In the opening round, the Hawks used a strong post game to dominate Pump and Run out of Iowa City 54-21. Dashawn Linnen led all scorers with 21 points, followed by Tristan Yoder’s 16. In the quarterfinals, the Hawks faced the Illinois Ambush. The Hawks used a dominating defensive performance and balanced scoring to rout the Ambush 56-20. Zach Suby led the team with 14 points and Kaleb Bacon right behind him with 12. In the semifinals, the Hawks faced South Dakota Ambush.  In a very physical game, the Hawks came out on top 43-24 and advanced to Sunday’s championship game. In the championship game, the Hawks faced The Iowa Lakes Ambush. A tight game throughout and a late run by the Hawks, fueled by Dashawn Linnen 25 points, led to the Hawks championship win 51-40. Kaleb Bacon and Tristan Yoder’s rebounding and the team’s stout defense was the key to the victory for the Hawks.
