Awards night wraps up high school basketball season
The Lake Mills boys' basketball program held its annual awards night Sunday night, as players and managers from the 2017-2018 high school team were honored for their contributions to the program this winter.
After a potluck meal, the Lake Mills coaching staff presented varsity letters, participation certificates, all-conference awards, and team awards to the players.
Aaron Mathahs was honored for his third year of service as a varsity manager.
Varsity participation certificates were awarded to Mason Fritz, Blake Storby, Bennett Eaton, and Jace Johnson.
First year varsity letters were presented to Brady Heagel, Nick Raaen, Jamie Underwood, Jackson Rice, Garrett Hanna, DaShawn Linnen, and Caleb Bacon.
Second year varsity letters were awarded to Grant Fjelstad, Anthony Naser, Tommy Kaktis, Chett Helming, and Colby Groe.
Trevor Hanna earned his fourth varsity letter, becoming just the fourth player in Coach Menke's career to receive that honor.

Most Promising Newcomers: DaShawn Linnen and Caleb Bacon
Most Improved Player: Chett Helming
Mr. Defense: Brady Heagel
Leadership Award: Anthony Naser
"It was a fun evening, and a nice way to honor the hard work put in by the young men of our basketball program," said Coach Menke. "I am excited about the future of Lake Mills basketball, and I want to thank our six graduating seniors for their time, dedication, and commitment."
