Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,
Just wanted to give a shout out to a couple Lake Mills businesses and our city crew. To our city crew for doing a great job moving ALL the snow we’ve already received this winter. Wow! You all go above and beyond and have worked hard to keep our roads accessible and travelable.
To David’s Foods/Marketplace and new owners Casey and Julie Connor for all the investments they’ve made in improving not only the decor but also the whole attitude and atmosphere of our grocery store. They have made our grocery store a business we can all be proud of and is no doubt the envy of some neighboring communities.
To Singlestad Hardware for the recent big addition to their store. Like the Connors, the Singlestad family has made a big investment in Lake Mills and continued commitment to serve this community and the surrounding area. Kermit, Kris, Curt, John, and Sam’s personal and knowledgeable service is second to none.
To those of us who call Lake Mills home: we are truly blessed to have our own grocery store, hardware store, and city employees who really care and are conscientious about doing their jobs. Add to that our great school system, administrators, principals, teachers, staff, and helpers, and we are blessed to enjoy living here in Lake Mills, Iowa. Believe us, after being born and growing up in much bigger cities in Wisconsin before moving to Iowa, the advantages and blessings of living in small town Iowa far outweigh the few disadvantages. We know we’re not the only ones who feel this way about life in Lake Mills, Iowa.
