Advice to newlyweds
Never go to bed angry. I know this sounds cliché, but it’s probably the most important piece of advice I’ve ever gotten regarding relationships. Even if you need to take a few minutes to cool off, it’s always worth it to work through the issue before your head hits the pillow for the night.
Make time for yourself. Just because you got engaged or married, doesn’t mean you stop being an individual. It’s important to have things that are just yours. Whether it’s a group of friends, a hobby, etc., you need to have things that you can enjoy alone. It’s okay to not do everything with your significant other, and if anything, it will help make your relationship stronger.
Have date nights. Marriage is work, so take one day out of the month to enjoy dinner and a movie or whatever else the two of you enjoy. It will give you something to look forward to and remind you why you fell in love. Make it light and fun
. . . it’s date night; it shouldn’t be stressful.
Congratulations on the start of your new adventure. There is so much to look forward to.
