Vivian Joy Brudvig
Vivian Joy Brudvig, 90, Scarville, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at the Lake Mills Care Center, Lake Mills. Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time. Private family graveside service will take place at Scarville Synod Lutheran Cemetery, rural Scarville.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Scarville Evangelical Lutheran Church or Scarville Ladies Aid. A public Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
The daughter of Clarence and Albena (Hestad) Hestness, Vivian Joy was born July 13, 1929 in Winnebago County. She attended and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1947.
On July 13, 1947 she was united in marriage to Nile Bausch, they had three children” Wayne Allen, David Lee, and Kathy Lynn. They lived in Alden, Minn., Eagle Grove, Tulsa, Okla., and Grants, N.M. Nile was a private pilot for a construction co. On his days off, he and friends would fly and see if they could find uranium. In October 1958, Niles died in a plane crash, so Vivian and children moved back to Lake Mills.
On Nov. 20, 1959. Vivian was united in marriage to Milford Brudvig at the Synod Lutheran Church, Scarville. They had four children” Brian, Andrea, Teresa, and John. They farmed near Scarville. until Milford’s death in 1997.
Vivian loved all crafts—crocheting, painting; she made afghans for her children and most of her grandchildren. She liked to quilt and sew. She loved playing cards—her favorites were hand and foot, and whist.
She is survived by her brother, Elwood (Valta) Hestness; sister-in-laws” Marie Hestness, Dorothy Hestness, and Yvonne Hestness; brother-in-law, Blick Young; sister-in-law, Agnes Andersland; brother-in-law, Erling Brudvig; children: Wayne Bausch, Ames; David (special friend, Chris Fischer) Bausch, Kiester, Minn.; Kathy Hylland, Scarville; Brian Brudvig, Tennesse; Andrea and (Bob) Loduha, Jackson, Wis.; Teresa (Mark) Ahrens, Cedarburg, Wis.; John (Alli) Brudvig, Scarville; and Jayne (Terry) Ringham, Lake Mills; grandchildren: Amber (Steve) Fry, Stacy (Jon) Salyers, Paul Hylland, Andrew and Karen Brudvig, Sarah (Keith) Luebke, Miranda, Jason, and Dylan Loduha, Jonah and Eli Ahrens, April Connolly, and Christian, Mateo, Jason, Arianna, and Mia Brudvig; great-grandchildren: Mary and Kyler Connolly, Natalie, Allison and Heidi Saylers; and many nieces and nephews.
Vivian is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Nile Bausch; second husband Milford Brudvig; brothers: Virgil Hestness, Adrian Hestness, Jerry Hestness, and Gene Hestness; sisters: Mavis Cornick, and Shirlene Young; sisters-in-law: Gladys Hestness, Carol Brudvig, Martha (Monrad) Gullerud, and Eveyln Brudvig; brother-in-law, Selmer Andersland; and son-in-law, Charles Hylland.
