Virgil E. Bosma

Virgil Edwin Bosma, 83, Albert Lea, Minn., passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Community, Albert Lea. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Rev. Christopher Martin will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by local servicemen’s organizations. Interment will be at Olena Mound Cemetery, Buffalo Center.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
Virgil Edwin Bosma was born Dec. 24, 1933 in Hebron Township, Kossuth County, the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Nerdig) Bosma. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
On April 26, 1956, Virgil married Vivian Johnson in Nashua. The couple later divorced.
Virgil farmed his whole life in Buffalo Center, and Emmons, Minn.  He was a member of Emmons Lutheran Church, Emmons American Legion Post, and Albert Lea Eagles Club.  Virgil loved fishing and spending time in retirement in Mission, Texas.
Virgil is survived by his children: Douglas (Carol) Bosma, Emmons, Minn.; Debra (Mark) Meuser, Albert Lea, Minn.; David Bosma, Lake Mills; and Denise (Daniel) Clark, Albert Lea, Minn.; grandchildren: Michael Bosma, Jonathan Bosma, Brittany Meuser, Megan Meuser, Jamison Clark, Tyler Clark, Braden Clark, Wyatt Clark; siblings: Ruth Murra, Richard (Sharon) Bosma, and Dennis (Bonnie) Bosma; and many nieces and nephews.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Ronnie Bosma; and brother-in-law, Ray Murra.
