Timothy A. Tenold

Timothy A. Tenold, 62, passed away after years of declining health Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his residence in Ames. A public visitation for Tim will be held from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, at Schott Funeral Home – Mittelstadt Chapel, Lake Mills. Private family services will take place, with Pastor Bill Peters officiating. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.

Timothy Arlyn Tenold was born December 20, 1960 in Forest City, IA to parents Arlyn and Judy (Horecka) Tenold.  Tim grew up in rural Lake Mills and Joice, graduating from Lake Mills High School in the class of 1979.  Tim furthered his education attending the University of Minnesota – Waseca.  

Tim was blessed with one son, Jacob, who he was always very proud of.

In his early years, Tim enjoyed golfing, fishing, and being in nature.  Later, Tim took a liking to reading–Stephen King novels being his favorite.  Astrology and the mystery of space also piqued his interest later in life.  Throughout his lifetime, he was an avid sports fan, following the Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes.

Tim is survived by his only son, Jacob Tenold, Dallas Center; parents, Arlyn and Judy Tenold, Joice; sister, Cindy (Gary) Pederson, Lake Mills; brother, Paul (Terri) Tenold, Lake Mills; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

Preceding Tim in death are both sets of grandparents; and a great-niece, Nola Pederson.
