Sharon Kaye Larson Seedorf

April 26, 1941 – February 7, 2018

Sharon Kaye (Larson) Seedorf, 76, Woodbury, Minn., formerly of Albert Lea, Minn., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018. while at her winter home in Lake Havasu, Ariz. Celebration of life and faith services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. Pastor Paul Dean from Resurrection Lutheran Church, Woodbury, will officiate. Visitation will begin at noon. Family and friends are invited to stay for a comforting Norwegian meal and fellowship following the Celebration of Life service. Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, is handling the arrangements. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the Minnesota Alzheimer’s Association, the American Cancer Society of Minnesota, or the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association.
Sharon was born at home in Freeborn County, Minn., April 26, 1941. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1958.
Sharon married Gary Seedorf in 1963 at Grace Lutheran Church and they lived outside of Alden, Minn., until moving to Barstow, Calif. in 1965.
After living a few years in California, Gary and Sharon moved back to Albert Lea, with Brian and Ann. In 1974, they moved to Blooming Prairie, Minn., after purchasing a hobby farm to fulfill their dream of living in the country and farming.
Sharon also worked at Hometown Insurance Agency, Blooming Prairie, and State Farm. Albert Lea. In 2000, she purchased an Allstate Agency, which she ran independently until her retirement. After retirement, Sharon and Gary enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren, family and friends. They also enjoyed spending the winter months at their home in Lake Havasu, Ariz., and having family and friends visit. Sharon took great pleasure in her flowers, volunteering, shopping, entertaining, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her son, Brian (Julie) Seedorf, Savage, Minn.; daughter, Ann (Jay) Behnken, Woodbury, Minn.; one granddaughter, Hannah Behnken; four grandsons: Jack and Griffin Seedorf; and Jacob (Emily) and Adam Behnken; one brother, Roger (Gabina) Larson; one sister, Becky (Jim) Cox; and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Gary, who passed away in May of 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harland and Stella (Honsey) Larson; and one grandson, Tyler Behnken.
