Ruth M. Zingg
Ruth M. Zingg, 90, Leland, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Center, Forest City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, Lake Mills, with Pastor Josh Skogen of Center Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in West Prairie Cemetery, rural Leland. Memorials may be directed to the Center Lutheran Church.
Ruth M. Zingg was born April 21, 1928 in Winnebago County, the daughter of Samuel Torsten and Christine (Solomnson) Okland. She attended grade school in Leland and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1946.
She was married to Arlyn Zingg on April 16, 1950 at Center Lutheran Church, rural Leland. Ruth enjoyed being a farm wife. She took great pride in caring for her home and husband, Arlyn. She wore many hats arounds the farm. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time and also collecting milk glass and other glassware. She was a life-long member of Center Lutheran Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her brother, Lloyd (Margaret) Okland; sister, Ruby Butler; sisters-in-law; Arlene Sorenson and Ruth Charlson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlyn Zingg in 2009; brothers: John (Alice) Okland, Ted (Muriel) Okland, Adolph (Clara) Okland, Stanley (Ardis) Okland, Wally Okland and Luther (Ruby) Okland; sisters: Selma Okland and Arlene (Kenneth) Hillman; brother-in-law, Dale Zingg in 2018; sister-in-law, Mavis Holt; and several nieces and nephews.
