Ronald L. Neumann

Ronald L. Neumann, 68, Northwood, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society, Albert Lea, Minn. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, at Conner Colonial Chapel, Northwood, with Reverend Randy Baldwin of Silver Lake Lutheran Church, rural Northwood officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood, with full military honors conducted by members of the United States Army burial detail. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday at the chapel. Those wishing to give a memorial in his memory, may wish to consider memorials be made to the Ronald L. Neumann memorial fund.
Ronald L. Neumann, was born on November 30, 1947, in Mason City, the son of August and Clarine (Bergo) Neumann. Ron was baptized and reaffirmed the faith of his baptism through confirmation at First Lutheran Church, Northwood.
Ron received his education in the Northwood-Kensett Community Schools.
Ron was inducted into the Army serving 20 years, with three tours of duty in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic, and also served in Germany, Texas, and Georgia. Following his career in the Army, Ron continued his work as a helicopter mechanic for various corporations in the United States, until returning home to North Iowa working at Fleetguard Manufacturing, Lake Mills.
Ron enjoyed dancing, country music, playing cards, watching all sports on TV especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings, and watching gameshows.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Tamara Schuttler, Grafton; his nephews and nieces: Randy (Kris) Neumann, Hayward, Wis.; Roxanne (Gerry) Horgan, Eagan, Minn.; Justin (Jennifer) Schuttler, Charles City; Skylar Schuttler, Grafton; and Callie (Jason) Athey, Grafton; great-nieces and nephews: Brittani (Brent) Bjelland, Omaha, Neb.; Lacy Neumann, Hayward, Wis.; Jadince, Justine, and Jacey Schuttler, all of Charles City; Elizabeth and Amelia Horgan, Eagan, Minn.; Ethan Neumann, Hayward, Wis.; Quinzey Praska, Charles City; and Simon Collins, and Gavin Athey, both of Grafton; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, August and Clarine Neumann; his nephew, Rodney Neumann; and a brother, Connie Neumann.
