Phillip Duane Peterson

Phillip Duane Peterson, 81, Lake Mills, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at his home. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday), Sept. 14, at the Lake Mills Synod Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor David Emmons officiating.Burial will follow at the Synod Lutheran Cemetery, Lake Mills.Military Rites will be performed by Lake Mills Otto/Chose Post #235.
Phillip was born in Thompson, the son of Peter T. Peterson and Selma (Hagenson) Peterson on Jan. 30, 1935. He was baptized and confirmed at the Winnebago Lutheran Church of Lake Mills.
He was raised on a farm and he attended school at Lake Mills and graduated in 1954. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1956. He worked in construction for several years, then was employed at Winnebago and Fleetguard, and retired from Fleetguard in 1997.
On Nov. 15, 1958 he was united in marriage to Norma Levorson in the Lake Mills Synod Church. To this union two children were born, Duane and Carole.
Phillip was an adventurous person and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, archery, bowling and traveling to visit his family. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and they him. He also enjoyed having coffee and visiting with his friends.
He is survived by wife, Norma; son, Duane, Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter, Carole Knighton, Maui, Hawaii; grandkids: Crystal and Dylan Keck, and great-grandsons, Becham and Grayson West. all of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant twin sister; and his son-in-law, Grant Knighton.
