Marlin Gene Arnevik
Marlin Gene Arnevik went to his heavenly home Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024. A private Celebration of Life for close family and friends will be held in their Coon Rapids, Minn., home Nov. 24, 2024.
Marlin was born June 18, 1940 in Forest City and raised on the family farm in Winnebago County. He was the son of Sam and Myrt Arnevik. He was baptized at Bethel Lutheran Church, Vinje, and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Scarville.
Marlin graduated from Lake Mills High School and University of Iowa. He built a career in the printing business in the Midwest, married Marilyn Gentz, and together they raised two children: Todd (Maggie) Arnevik and Teresa (Mark) Moeller.
After their divorce, Marlin met and married Mary Weber. Together they raised her three sons: Matthew, Thomas, and James Rudolph. They ran a home preschool and child care business for 20 years. He had a passion for the children and developed lifelong bonds of love and trust. They called him “Marly.”
During their retirement years the passion turned to bike riding along the Mississippi River. Known for his kind and gentle heart and wonderful sense of humor, his life was truly a legacy of love.
In addition to his wife and children, Marlin is survived by two siblings: Sylvia (Mark) Gulick and Sara Stensrud; one sister-in-law, Cindy Arnevik; 12 grandchildren; and three expected great-grandchildren.
