Karen Joyce Miller Flo

January 31, 1943 – March 12, 2021

Karen Joyce (Miller) Flo, 78, went home to be with the Lord as her family was by her side at her home Friday, March 12, 2021 after her battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Per Karen’s wishes, her ashes will be placed next to her husband’s in Bluff Dale, Texas.
Karen was born in Tyler, Minn., Jan. 31, 1943 to Ernest and Esther Miller. Karen has two younger brothers: Gaylerd (Connie) Miller, Emporia, Kansas; and Delwen (Jackie) Miller, Hartford, Kansas.
Karen married the love of her life, Larry Dean Flo, Oct. 14, 1961 and raised two children together, Kenneth and Carolyn. Together, Karen and Larry lived in various locations during their marriage in Minnesota and Iowa. Their pride and joy being their farm in Iowa where they raised pigs.
Karen enjoyed oil painting, working in the yard, and designing projects to build with Larry. Karen earned a degree in Mechanical Drafting while in school in Albert Lea, Minn., which eventually brought her to Texas to work for Texas Instruments.
Karen is survived by her two children: Kenneth (Joyce) Flo, The Colony, Texas; and Carolyn (Chris) Rodriguez, Watauga, Texas; three grandchildren: Ryan (Paige) Hopkins, Rebecca (Andrew) Wheeler and Eillen Matsuo. and four great-grandchildren: Tatum Hopkins, Truett Hopkins, Lincoln Hopkins and Genken Matsuo.
She was preceded in death by her parents;  husband, Larry D. Flo; son-in-law, Robert J. Hopkins; sister-in-law, Connie Miller; and nephews: Jason Miller and Kevin Miller.
