John Niles Hermanson

John Niles Hermanson, 76, Scarville, passed away Wednesday, May 24 at the Good Samaritan Society,Forest City. Visitation will be held from  5-7 p.m., Friday, June 2, at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 Lake Mills. Cremation will take place after the visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 3, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Scarville, with inurnment taking place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Scarville, with Kermit Singelstad officiating.
 John Niles Hermanson was born July 28, 1940 in Kiester, Minn., the son of Emil G. and Ruth H. (Olson) Hermanson. He graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1957.
He married Dorothy Troe in 1959.
 He married Marcia Joy Awe in 1974.
He married Mary Theresa “Trish” Garcia in 2009.
For years he ran his own plumbing and heating business and most recently was head of maintenance at the Good Samaritan Society, Forest City.
John was an inventor and loved to travel and see things. Some of his favorite places were the North Shore, Nelson Cheese Factory and the Eagle Center, Wabasha, Minn.  Camping was also a big part of John’s life; he was an outdoor person, who enjoyed singing around the camp fire and making breakfast on an old washing machine lid over an open flame.
He is survived by his wife, Trish, Scarville; children: Diane Schulze (Matt Coe), Clear Lake; Patrick (Michelle) Hermanson, Scarville; Chuck Olson (Angie Lenetz Lass), Moorhead, Minn.; Timothy (Sheri Harpestad) Hermanson, Lake Mills; Christian (Angela) Hermanson, Bloomington, Minn.; Jenny Subject, Prescott, Wis.; and Jessi (Ryan) Mary, Lake Mills; Mr. Peanut Horatio Hermanson (canine family mascot); grandchildren: Steven (Cassandra) Schulze, Ryan (Kalyn) Schulze, Josh Grothe, Brandon Hermanson, Seth Hermanson, Ava Hermanosn, Dillon (Sharayah Vorland) Hacker, Adam Hermanson, Summer Busch Gordon, Audi Autumn Gordon, Nathan Ptacek, and Owen Mary Kaisen Mary; great-grandchildren: Trenton Schulze, Hayden Schulze, Harper Schulze and Hailey Schulze; sister, Donna Watkins; brother, Jerome (Judy) Hermanson; and sister-in-law, Franceen Hermanson.
John was preceded in death by his parents; sons: Donavan and John; wife, Marcia Hermanson in 2007; brother, Ronald Hermanson; brother-in-law, Peter Watkins; and sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Paul VanKamen.
