Jason E. Kingland

March 2, 1965 – March 1, 2020

Jason E. Kingland, 54 passed away unexpectedly at his home in Lake Mills, Sunday, March 1, 2020. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, from 1-3 p.m. at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, Lake Mills. Following which, there will be a celebration of his life and prayer service taking place at 3 p.m., led by Mr. Kermit Singelstad.Inurnment will take place at a later date.
Jason Edward Kingland was born March 2, 1965 in Forest City, to parents Richard Wayne and Mary Isabel (Graves) Kingland. He attended school in Forest City. Through the following years, Jason and his high school sweetheart, Darla (Charlson) Rodberg, had three beautiful children together: Erica, Andrew and Kelly.
When he was close to 30, Jason was brave enough to obtain his GED and AA degrees from NIACC, Mason City, and went on to attend Mankato State University for an additional year. He was a carpenter, handyman, plumber, and helped with farm work. Jason was willing to help anyone with any task and usually had the skills to get the job done.
He enjoyed golfing in John and Michelle’s pasture, watching WWE wrestling, drinking Pepsi, birdwatching and whistling with them, cheering for the Hawkeyes, and most of all he adored his kids and grandchildren.
His family will remember him for his kind heartedness, his giving spirit, and the fact that he was always able to put in a good word for everyone—even if it was a weird rhyming pet name he had made up.
Jason will be missed by his three children and their families: daughter Erica Kingland, Lake Mills, and her three kids, Charles, Ethan amd Isabel; son, Andrew (fiancée Autumn Sparks) Kingland, Conroe, Texas, and their son, Keaton; and daughter, Kelly (Mitchell Reyerson) Kingland, Twin Lakes, Minn., and their two girls, Kaydence and Ava; siblings: John (Michelle) Kingland, Forest City; Janet Kingland, North English; and Jeff Kingland, North English; an aunt, Norma (Paul) Vlieger, Norwalk; many nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as the mother to his three great kids, Darla (Scott) Rodberg, Joice.
He was preceded in death by his paren
