Janet D. Rainey

Janet D. Rainey, 76, Wells, Minn., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018 at Parkview Care Center, Wells. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Kiester, Minn.  Pastor Kris Ferkin will officiate. Interment will be at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
Janet Darlene Rainey was born Jan. 6, 1942 in Albert Lea, Minn., the daughter of Orlando and Marjorie (Martens) Seltun.  She graduated from Kiester High School in 1960.
Janet raised her four children in Kiester and worked as a press operator for 33 years at Fleetguard/Cummins Engine. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Kiester, Minn. Janet enjoyed photography, art, gambling, and collecting jewelry and music.  She loved to browse the internet, particularly shopping on eBay and playing computer games. Family was very important to Janet.
Janet is survived by her children: Lowell Rainey, Britt. Paula (Greg) Carroll, Kiester, Minn.; Elizabeth Rainey (significant other, Mark Kuhn), Crystal Lake; and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Rainey, Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren: Christopher Hamson, Kiester, Minn.; Joanna Carroll, Easton, Minn.; Jordan Houg (significant other, Katlin Cordes), New Ulm, Minn.; and Mitchell Rainey, Ames; great-grandsons: Carter Hamson and Emmett Hamson, both of Kiester, Minn.; aunt, Pat Martens, Roland.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; uncles: Doc Seltun, Marvin Seltun, Earl Seltun, Stanley Seltun, and Lars Martens; former husband, Lowell Rainey, Sr.; and aunt, Ardis Seltun.
