Gregory Allen Keough

April 14, 1947 – February 22, 2021

Gregory Allen Keough, 73, Leland, passed away peacefully, Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 at the Hancock County Medical Center, Britt. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Forest City, with Pastor Zech Anderson officiating.  Masks will be required and social distancing practices are still being encouraged. Greg’s service will be streamed live on the Schott Funeral Homes website beginning around 10:30 AM on the day of the service. Masks will be encouraged and social distancing practices are still being encouraged. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery, Forest City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Gateway Hospice or the donor’s choice.
Gregory Allen Keough was born April 14, 1947 in Forest City, the son of Joseph C. and Aileen Rose (Enright) Keough.  He attended school in Leland and graduated from Forest City High School in 1965.  
Greg married Renelda Schulz and to this union, four children were born—Kelly, Nicole, Bret and Lindsy. They later divorced.  
Greg was remarried to Deb Hatland and to this union, Jennifer and Ryan were born. They later divorced.  His youngest daughter, Mariah Jacobson, was born later.  
Greg was later married to Melinda Carlson in 2017 in Forest City.
Greg loved being a DJ. He started he career in Omaha, Neb., working for Metro Sounds and Lights for many years.  He started and own DJ service in 1978 and owned and operated this business for over 35 years.  Greg enjoyed providing his DJ services all over North Iowa at all kinds of events.  He also worked at Part Plus in Forest City for many years.  
Greg loved to hunt, fish, camp, attend concerts, attend dirt track races, and especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Attending the Sturgis and Conesville motorcycle rallies was always a time Greg looked forward to. Greg loved all his family and enjoyed the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Melinda (Carlson) Keough, Leland; children: Kelly (Bill) Nicklas, Cordova, Tenn.; Nicole (Matthew) Chauffe, Lakeland, Tenn.; Bret (Cindy) Keough, Olive Branch, Miss.; Lindsy (Andy) Johanson, Fort Dodge; Jennifer Keough, Denison; Ryan (Lynne) Keough, Emmons, Minn.; and Mariah Jacobson, Garner; 10 grandchildren; sisters: Sandi (Dennis) Peterson, Lake Mills; Rose Marie (Brad) Wicker, Forest City; Glenda Keough, Forest City; brother, Ronald (Jeanette) Keough, Forest City; many nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Bob Enright; and nephew, Nate Wicker.
