Dennis Allen Timm

January 21, 1947 – October 30, 2019

Dennis Allen Timm, 72 passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 at his residence in Lake Mills. Dennis’ family will be holding a private celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, cards, or gifts, Dennis wanted to encourage individuals to show extra love and kindness in his memory.
Dennis Allen Timm was born in Mason City, Jan. 21, 1947. As a child, Dennis lived in Joice, and graduated from Lake Mills Community School in 1965.
After graduation, Dennis attended North Iowa Area College (NIACC) and was enlisted in the Army for two years, as a finance administrator.
Following his years in the service, Dennis was employed as a small-town mechanic for his step-father, Orvan Timm. He was also employed for a short time with Forester Trailers, Forest City, before gaining employment at Fleetguard Industries, Lake Mills. Dennis thoroughly enjoyed his job as security guard, where he worked until retirement.
In his younger years, Dennis enjoyed bowling, hunting, and trap-shooting with his friends.
For the last several years, Dennis loved helping his neighbors at the Franklin Apartments, by shoveling snow from the sidewalks early in the morning, scraping frost from vehicle windows, holding spare keys in case someone was locked out of their apartment, and assisting management in any way possible. His neighbors shared kind words of love and appreciation following Dennis’ passing and said that he would be greatly missed by all. One of Dennis’ greatest enjoyments in life was his two cats, Tinker and Kiki – he always made sure to clarify that, “the cats makes the rules, not me.”
Dennis was very passionate about his Lord, Jesus Christ. His deepest desire of his heart, was that everyone would come to know and love Jesus as their personal savior. He spent many hours praying for his friends and family. Dennis told his sister, Donna, that “if I go first, be happy for me as I will be leaping and jumping (with no knee pain) in heaven praising my King.”
He is survived by his brother, Donald Timm and wife, Sylvia, Holmen, Minn.; sister, Donna Fjelstad and husband, David, Lake Mills; sister, Dixie Montano and husband, Tom, Oregon City, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Timm; father, Clarence Blakesley; stepfather, Orvan Timm; and nephew, Todd Timm.
