Darrell Eugene Low

Darrell Eugene Low, 78, Yale, Oka.  passed away Saturday,  Nov. 26, 2016 at Stillwater Medical Center  with his family by his side. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday,  Nov. 29, at the Lawson Cemetery, Yale. Pastor Mark Jackson will officiate. Graveside arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale.
Darrell was born June 5, 1938 to the Carroll and Frances (Turvold) Low in Northwood. He grew up in Northwood and in 1956, he joined the United States Army and served until 1960 and was honorably discharged.
Darrell met and married the love of his life, Sharlene Bassett, and they were married Aug. 9, 1956, and to this union four children were born: Tommy, Terry, Tracy, and Tammy.
Together they traveled, and Darrell loved spending time with his children, he coached them in little league, and even found time to do a little bowling, and enjoyed working with horses.
Later in life, an on-the-job injury forced Darrell out of work. It was then he received training in the field of heating and air; this allowed him to find a job with OSU Physical Plant, where he rose to the position of superintendent over several shops.
Darrell most of all loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren and now great grandchildren. Like sneaking them candy when their parents were not watching. He was best known as a tireless worker, and always put the needs of others before himself.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Sharlene, of the home, two sons: Tommy Low Sr. and wife, Cynde; and Terry Low and wife, Connie; two daughters: Tracy Parker and husband, Greg; and Tammy Prince and husband, Mike; one brother, David “Sonny” Low and wife, Loraine; one sister, Janell “Sis” Holstead and husband, Eldren; 12 grandchildren: Tommy Low Jr, and his wife, Magan; Rocky Low and his wife, Stephanie; Cody Low and his wife, Brooke; Doug Russell and his wife, Nikki; Terry Jo Low and his wife, Alicia; Tara Mueggenborg and her husband, Derrick; Tyler Dershem; Makenna Greenfield and her husband, Blake; Gregory Parker and wife, Cassie;  Lauren Mueggenborg and her husband, Matt; Chelsie Morphew and her husband, Kendal; and Evan Price; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Burnell Low; brother in-law, Vic Bassett; and father- and mother in-law, Percy and Lila Bassett.
