Carol M. Brudvig

Carol M. Brudvig, 87, rural Lake Mills, passed away peacefully Easter Sunday morning, April 21, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn. She was surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at Scarville Synod Lutheran Church, Scarville, with Pastor Joshua Skogen officiating. Burial will take place in Scarville Synod Lutheran Cemetery, rural Scarville.Visitation will be from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the church on Saturday.
Carol Mamie (Anderson) Brudvig was born April 29, 1931 in Freeborn County, Minn., to parents Helmer and Lena (Leegaard) Anderson. She was baptized June 7, 1931 at Silver Lake Lutheran Church, rural Northwood, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, Minn. Carol attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School.
 On June 26, 1953, she was united in marriage with Erling O. Brudvig at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, Minn. The couple, blessed with a daughter, Clarice, made their home on their farm northwest of Lake Mills, where they remained since.
She and Erling were able to winter in Mesa, Ariz., regularly for almost 30 years.
Carol was an active member of Scarville Synod Lutheran Church, who was involved with the Ladies Aide and Dorcas Society. She was a farmwife and homemaker, she found enjoyment cooking, and studied the Bible daily. She was a kind and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Erling, Lake Mills; daughter, Clarice (Kim) Olson, Woodbury, Minn.; five grandchildren: Matthew, Tyler, Luke, Benjamin and Elza Olson, all of Woodbury, Minn.; a sister, Mavis Klouse, Austin, Minn.; sister-in-law, Nina Anderson, Ellendale, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother. Harlan Anderson; and three sisters: Myrtle Berge, Lillian Pixley, and Laurene Groe.
