Bernice Katherine Dymbe Olson

Bernice K. Olson, 92, Emmons, Minn., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, surrounded by her family at St. John’s Lutheran Home, Albert Lea, Minn. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, at Lime Creek Synod Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills, with Pastor David Emmons officiating. Burial will be in the Lime Creek Synod Cemetery.Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 29, from 5-7 p.m. at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, Lake Mills, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Bernice Katherine (Dymbe) Olson was born April 13, 1925, west of Emmons, Minn., on the family farm in Winnebago County, to parents Peter and Anna (Singelstad) Dymbe. She attended and graduated from Lake Mills High School and went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls where she earned her teaching certificate. She taught country schools in the Emmons area and later taught kindergarten in the Emmons public school.
On April 23, 1948 Bernice was united in marriage with Clyde Olson at Lime Creek Synod Lutheran Church. Bernice remained an active member at Lime Creek until her health no longer permitted.
She enjoyed listening to old time music, reading cook books, and spending time with her cats.
Bernice is survived by her son, Michael Olson, Rosemount, Minn.; and daughter, Laura (Jim) Zenk, Emmons, Minn.; a sister, Violet (Maynard) Tweed, Ames; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband. Clyde; two brothers: Oscar Dymbe and Ardell Dymbe; and a sister. Senora (Hartwick) Holt.
