Alice Jean Anderson Statham

July 16, 1943 – January 26, 2020

Alice Jean (Anderson) Statham, 76, Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Lake Mills, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 at Mountain View Manor, Prescott. A memorial service will take place at a later date with burial of her ashes at Salem Memorial Cemetery, rural Lake Mills, where her parents are also buried. Alice’s family is being assisted by Mittelstadt Funeral Home, Lake Mills.
Alice Jean (Anderson) Statham was born in Albert Lea, Minn., July 16, 1943, to William and Marie (Rasmusson) Anderson. She grew up in Lake Mills, and was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church.
Alice had a love of music. At the age of 15, Alice Jean won first place in a piano competition for the state of Iowa. During her high school years, she sang in the chorus and played clarinet in the band. She was the vice president for both her junior and senior years in addition to being a member or officer for many other high school clubs. Alice graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1961.
Following high school, Alice had a career in secretarial work in Albert Lea, before she relocated to Tucson, Ariz. in 1971.
In 1974, she was united in marriage with Michael LeDoux, and to this union they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Susan Marie. Alice was later married to Walter Statham.
For over a decade, Alice had been residing at Mountain View Manor in Prescott, Ariz., where she was the Queen of the Red Hatters, loved to play Bingo, and regularly attended Bible study as her faith was so important to her.
In 2018, Alice was honored to be named “Resident of the Year” for all Arizona Health Care Association (AzHCA) nursing homes in the state.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Susan (Rob) Sanders, and a grandson, Thomas, all of Ashland Wis.; her brother, David (Rachel) Anderson, Lake Mills; an aunt, Mary Drake, Prescott, Ariz.; and her cousins: Debra Godtland-Bernin, John Nielsen, Kathryn Jensen, Mark Jensen and Peter Jensen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Anderson; grandparents: Otto and Alice Rasmusson; and Nick and June Anderson; as well as aunts and uncles: Ollie and Art Godtland; Violet and Robert Jensen; and Douglas Drake.
