Worth Co. Extension receives grant

ISU Worth County Extension received a $1,925 Working Here Fund grant for an agricultural and 4-H educational technology classroom. The grant is provided through Farm Credit Services of America’s (FCSAmerica) Working Here Fund.
ISU Worth County Extension Service will use the grant funds to create a state of the art educational classroom with high quality audio visual equipment. The funds will be used to purchase a wireless microphone system and ceiling speakers. The equipment will be used to help enhance meetings held at Worth County Extension Service for a variety of agriculture clubs and organizations.
“The high quality equipment would greatly enhance the learning experience for the many groups that use the Extension meeting room/classroom,” said Dennis Johnson, Worth County Extension Education Director.
“We’re honored to support local organizations like ISU Worth County Extension Services that are striving to make a difference in our community,” said Julie Hoodjer, vice president of retail operations at FCSAmerica’s Mason City office.
ISU Worth County Extension Service is one of 99 organizations to receive a Working Here Fund grant in the third quarter of 2016. FCSAmerica awarded $133,405 during the latest grant cycle ending Sept. 30, 2016.
