Winnebago fair queen candidates
The 2016 Winnebago County Fair Queen coronation will be held Thursday evening, July 21, at 7 p.m. in the Grandstand arena. Three local young ladies are competing for fair queen this year.
Halle Jo Johnson is the 17-year-old daughter of Mark Johnson and Lana Heins, Leland. She is currently serving as her FFA chapter’s president. She is also involved in 4-H and is a member of the Winnebago County Junior Fair Board. In school, she participates in basketball, track, softball, speech, FFA, and showing animals. Her future plans are to finish high school and to attend college to major in agribusiness.
Karissa Heath is the 16-year-old daughter of Sarah Heath, Lake Mills. Service organizations she is involved with are FFA, FCCLA, and 4-H. She is also training her dog to be a therapy dog to help students at her school. In school, activities for Karissa include: FFA, FCCLA, volleyball, and basketball. Her future plans are to complete high school and then go to NIACC or Riverland to become an LPN and hopefully raise horses.
Ivey Greensky is the 18-year-old daughter of Dana and Katy Greensky, Buffalo Center. Her service organizations that she participates in include: LYO church group and FFA. While Ivey was in school, she participated in volleyball, basketball, golf, FFA, band, flag corps, and was on the honor roll. She will be attending South Dakota State University this fall to study to become a nurse anesthetist.
The Lil Miss contest will be held prior to the queen coronation in the Grandstand at 6:30 p.m. Registration will be held from 5:30-5:45 p.m. in the 4-H Exhibit Building.
