Winnebago County man dies in farm accident

According to a press release recevied from the Hancock County Sherrif's office, that department and the Hancock County Medical Examiner's office investigated an accident at Branstad Farms, located on Highway 69, south of Forest City, on October 3, at approximately 9:02 a.m.

Julian Michael Santos, Buffalo Center, fell down an enclosed silo chute, and was pronounced dead on the scene, after falling from a height estimated to be 30 feet.

Branstad Farms is owned by Monroe Branstad.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office, the Hancock Medical Examiner's Office, Forest City Ambulance Service, Forest City Fire Department, Forest City Police Department, Winnebago County Sheriff's Department and Mercy Air Life were involved in the response. The investigatoin is on-going.
