Winnebago Co. Fair parade, July 24; TSB chosen as Grand Marshal

The Winnebago County Fair runs from July 21-24. One of the highlights is the County Fair Parade. The parade will be held Sunday, July 24, at 1:30 p.m.. This will be the 64th county-wide parade that the fair has held in Thompson.
Traditionally, the parade committee has prided itself in honoring area-wide veterans and that commitment will continue this year. We welcome all VFW and American Legion members to help lead the parade. Communities are also encouraged to provide their veterans with a vehicle for the parade.
Community fire departments, ambulance crews, and cooperatives are also encouraged to participate. Businesses with a float or a vehicle that they wish to display are also welcome to attend. Classic cars and tractors are always highlights of the parade.
Picking a Grand Marshal is always a hard thing to do. There are many people and businesses that qualify for this honor. This year, the parade committee has chosen Titonka Savings Bank as Grand Marshal of the Winnebago County Fair Parade. TSB is a community minded organization. Their employees volunteer for many events and provide financial support as well. Titonka Savings Bank will celebrate 100 years of business in the community. They have also been supporters of the Winnebago County Fair.
The Winnebago County Fair parade has no entry fee. Parade participants will start to line up about 12:30 p.m. along Sunset Drive, northwest of city park. The parade route begins at the city park on Harrison St., south to Fourth Ave., east to Madison St., north to Second Ave. then back to Harrison St. Please note the change of the route.
Parade entries will not be assigned a number. The parade committee reserves the right to reject any entry that is in conflict with the parades commitment to family, community , faith and country.
