Shooting near Thompson

On Friday, June 1, at 13:54 hours, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a male that had been shot at 8559 390th St., Thompson. Upon officers arriving on the scene, they found a male with a gunshot wound. He was then transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, MasonCity. This incident is still under investigation and more details will be released at a later date.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa DNR, Forest City Police, Britt Police, Buffalo Center Ambulance and Forest City Ambulance.
