Old Town Christmas, Dec. 13-14

This year, Lake Mills will celebrate the holiday season with an Old Town Christmas, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14.
The annual Twilight Tour of Homes will be held Friday, Dec. 13, from 5-7 p.m. Tour local homes in all their holiday glory. Tickets get you access to all five locations and a light Victorian supper at the 1901 Victorian House. This event is hosted by the Lake Mills Area Historical Society. Homes on the tour will be featured in the Dec. 11 issue of the Lake Mills Graphic.
Saturday, Dec. 14, is full of activities for the entire family. A Holiday Fest Scavenger Hunt will be held all day. Pick up your scavenger hunt list at participating business and start searching. Complete your list and be entered into the drawing for a special holiday prize. Winner will be drawn at 5 p.m.. While you are downtown searching, don’t forget to shop at local stores.
The Rice Lake Golf and Country Club will be hosting a Kids’ Holiday from 9-11 a.m. Activites will include indoor and outdoor craft projects, games, build your own baggie, and more. Parents can stay for the fun or drop off their children for two hours. There is a small fee.
Decorate a gingerbread house at the Lake Mills Public Library from 10 a.m-1 p.m. There will be other fun activities for all ages.
The Mills Theatre will be showing free holiday movies all afternoon beginning at Noon with “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (26 minutes); 12:30 p.m. “The Little Drummer Boy” (25 minutes); 1 p.m.  “Frosty the Snowman” (25 minutes); 1:30 p.m.” Frosty Returns (30 minutes); 2 p.m. “The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus” (50 minutes); 3 p.m. ”Garfield’s Christmas” (30 minutes); 3:30 p.m. “Charlie Brown Christmas” (30 minutes); and 4 p.m. “Santa Claus is Coming To Town” (50 minutes). Santa Claus will also be visiting The Mills Theatre. Be sure to tell him your Christmas wishes.
Stop by Thrivent Financial on N. Mill St., from 1-3 p.m., and color a greeting card to send to soldiers, who can’t be with their families this holiday season.
Marketplace on Mill (formerly Pit Stop Printing) encourages you to stir up some magic from 1-5 p.m. with their Reindeer Dust Making activity.
When the sun goes down Saturday evening, voting begins in the Christmas Lighting Contest. Grab your family, a route map (found on the LMCDC Facebook page) and cruise the town looking at all the entires. Be sure to vote for your favorite.
