New To You under new ownership
“I feel blessed to be able to offer a service to my community,” said Lisa Myran, new owner of Albert Lea’s New To You Consignment store, located 123 N. Broadway. “We not only have a place for people to sell their items, but we also have a place for our consumers to find things they need and enjoy. You never know what you might find and we have people that come in for a specific item they’re looking for, but we also have people coming in to just see what fun, interesting treasures they might discover.”
Myran, is not new to the consignment business. At one point in her previous years, she had a consignment store at Skyline Mall. “It was always something that I enjoyed.” When New To You Consignment became available, she was immediately interested in getting back into the business and to be a part of downtown Albert Lea was definitely a bonus.
“Just like many other consignment shops, we have people bring in their items and we sell the product for them. We split 50 percent of the proceeds for items sold,” commented Myran. The store sells adult and children’s clothing and accessories. They also accept home decor and household goods. An appointment is required to bring in items.
“The business has been at the present location for approximately 30 years. Even though I am the official owner, I feel it is family owned. Others have put their love and support into this business also,” said Lisa.
“We have owned the business for about the past six weeks and are excited about meeting new people and making new friends,” said Myran. Having recently updated with a fresh new paint job, the future plans are to build up the children’s and men’s department as we go. “Our main goal is to provide great customer service along with great products. Be sure to stop and be greeted with a smile. We hope to see you soon.
