New women’s clothing boutique opens in downtown Albert Lea

“An idea and goal of mine has finally become a reality,” said Kellie Steele, Conger resident and owner of Ellen & Jane Boutique. This idea was to dress women of all sizes with a new downtown Albert Lea store on W. Clark St.
“I named my store after the middle names of my two daughters. We offer sizes extra small through 3X, along with apparel, accessories, shoes, jewelry, and more,” commented Steele. Items are considered trendy, urban-chic, and reasonably priced.
Steele also owns a photography business in the Albert Lea area, which she will continue to run. Steele and her husband live on a farm near Conger, Minn., and have five children.   
Steele has been helping families pick out clothing suggestions for photos for many years and discovered a passion for helping customers with their personal styles. Also, being experienced and working with clothing stores in past years, she knew this was a good time to open a store in downtown Albert Lea. Noticing the closings of Herbergers and Shopko in recent years, she said she realized the community needed more clothing options.
Prior to opening, the building housed  an office and empty for a few years, they installed new carpeting, painted, built dressing rooms and decorated the space.
“Many new items will be arriving before the holidays for shoppers. We encourage the public to come in, shop, and welcome comments from our customers on things they would like to see in our store,” said Steele.
Ellen & Jane Boutique is  located is at 220 W. Clark St., Albert Lea, Minn. The store is open Monday thru Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Thursday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Look for them on Facebook.
