New Mayo Clinic Health System leader meets with local officials in Lake Mills

Annie Sadosty, M.D., the new Regional Vice President for Mayo Clinic Health System in Southeast Minnesota, met last week in Lake Mills with local officials to share current trends in rural health care, and listen and learn about the most important aspects of the community’s health care needs. The meeting was well attended by community members, who engaged in a thoughtful conversation about how to preserve the care the community needs.
Dr. Sadosty, a practicing emergency room physician, will be responsible for strategic direction and leadership of staff and operations for the Southeast Minnesota Region, which covers hospital and clinic locations in the Owatonna/Faribault, Albert Lea/Austin, and Cannon Falls/Lake City/Red Wing areas.  She grew up in Ludington, Michigan, and her father was a physician.
“As a product of a small town, I appreciate knowing what matters most to communities when it comes to caring for their health care needs,” says Dr. Sadosty. “Health care is changing at an unbelievable pace, and we need to make sure that rural communities have access to the high quality care they deserve in this very challenging environment.”
Dr. Sadosty met with community leaders in Lake Mills August 30. She says she appreciates the dedication of local officials who serve the needs of each community as civic and government leaders. “With a shared vision, we can help shape the future of rural health care by listening to one another and seeking sustainable solutions together,” says Dr. Sadosty.
Dr. Sadosty was accompanied by Dr. Brian Bunkers, CEO of Mayo Clinic Health System – Owatonna/Faribault, and Tricia Dahl, operations administrator for Mayo Clinic Health System – Albert Lea and Austin.
