MS/HS Fall Vocal Concert

The Lake Mills Vocal Music Department will present their annual Fall Concert this Thursday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the LMCS high school gymnasium. The concert’s theme is, “Hopes & Dreams.” Highly acclaimed composers Jim Papoulis, Greg Gilpin, Randall Stroope, Craig Hella Johnson, and others will be credited for a vast array of songs that express the hopes and dreams of people around the globe. Middle School members will be performing some well-known songs including “A Million Dreams,” “Touch the Sky,” and “Inscription of Hope.” The High School Chorus will sing the classic choral spiritual “Saints Bound for Heaven,” “We Rise Again,” and a rousing rendition of Carly Simon’s “Let the River Run.” The concert will culminate with the 150-member mass chorus singing Susan LaBarr’s “Hold Fast to Dreams.” New this year will be a Royal Brownie Buffet from 6-6:45 p.m. Brownies topped with warm chocolate sauce, caramel, whipped cream, and an array of other toppings will be served with a tall glass of milk. There is a small charge for the buffet. Proceeds benefit the High School Chorus trip to New York City in March of 2020. There is no charge to attend the concert. The concert is under the direction of Linda Saxton, accompanied by pianist Mindy Sletten.
