LMHS adds two new teachers to staff

The LMHS 2020/2021 school year is commencing with the addition of two teachers. . . who are former Bulldogs themselves . . .  both of the class of 2013.
They are Andy Dahle, and Carlie (Christianson) Fritz. Dahle will be teaching Industrial Tech, and Fritz will coach, as well as, teach English.

Andy Dahle
Following high school graduation, Andy attended and graduated from North Iowa Area Community College, Mason City, and the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls.
Dahle has had various jobs, working at Larson Manufacturing, WCTA, Whole Excavation, and Christianson Builders (which were all summer jobs as he worked to put himself through college), and feels he learned a lot from them.
Recently, he left West Bend-Mallard school district, where he coached wrestling and football, and taught industrial tech the last two years.
“I took this job because it was a good opportunity for me, coming from a smaller school district. I also wanted to be around more family and friends. I think Lake Mills is the best school district there is,” said Dahle. “I’m looking forward to teaching alongside my former teachers, and hopefully having a wrestling season.”
Working on projects, fishing, wrestling and spending time with friends and family, are high on his list of interests.
Carlie Fritz
Carlie attended Iowa State University, Ames, and graduated with a B.A. in English Education with a coaching endorsement. While in college, she worked in the Writing and Media Center on ISU’s campus as a peer writing consultant.
She has spent the last two years at Forest City High School, teaching English, along with coaching eighth grade volleyball. She has also worked as a substitute teacher in Lake Mills, Northwood, and Forest City, in the spring of 2018.
“I took this job, because it was really my middle and high school teachers who inspired me towards my career in education, and it’s not every day you get to become colleagues with the people who inspired you,” commented Fritz.
Fritz and her husband, Evan, have two cats and one dog, and enjoy spending time with them. Their Corgi’s name is Freya, who has the privilege of kayaking with them.  They also love spending time outdoors gardening and hiking; spending time with family and friends and traveling with them. They have been to quite a few states, as well as New Zealand and Ireland, and have plans to visit Scotland.
“I’m looking forward to teaching and coaching the students across the different grade levels, and building strong relationships with students and staff, as the year progresses. I’m also excited to work with Sarah Ham (who was my teacher in high school) to continue strengthening the English department, as we figure out what is best for the students during this unique back-to-school situation.”
