Lake Mills FFA represented at 90th National Convention
From Oct. 24-28, seven FFA members attended National Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. While there, the students attended various workshops and listened to several well-known speakers teach them the ropes to a successful life with the help of FFA. A few of the members shared their experiences from National Convention.
Chapter President, Abbey Bray, shares that she attended the “Find Your Future In Ag” workshop, where she learned how her personality type fits in with specific careers related to agriculture. Abbey especially enjoyed this workshop, because she got to meet and talk with many new people.
Freshman FFA member, Bianca Singelstad, attended the “Netflix or Checklist” workshop, where she learned how to stay on top of tasks and prioritizing time with a schedule. Bianca liked this workshop because she got to meet several new people and she felt very involved while there.
Fellow freshman FFA members, Daniel Wallin and Zac Lopez, attended the same workshop called “Speak Ag.” From this workshop, the students learned about two different types of crops—GMO’s and Non-GMO’s—and the pros and cons of each, which they found very interesting. Daniel and Zac enjoyed their workshop, because they got to meet various new people, socialize and debate with their peers, and to trust in them.
National Convention 2017 was a definite successful few days for the Lake Mills FFA Chapter and the Chapter would like to express their appreciation to those who participated in the fruit sales for helping these seven students learn and grow in the FFA world, by attending National Convention.
