Lake Mills Care Center and Mills Harbour welcome new administrator

The Lake Mills Care Center and Mills Harbour Independent and Assisted Living are pleased to welcome Kersten Fisher as their new administrator. Her first day was Nov. 13.
Fisher attended East Buchanan Community Schools, Winthrop, before attending Kirkwood Community College and the University of Northern Iowa. Now licensed as an administrator, she is excited to start her career.
“Work experience was a major inspiration in my career path. I have a passion for helping others and making a difference in daily life,” states Fisher.
Her experience includes working at other ABCM locations in Iowa as a nutritional assistant and certified nursing assistant. She also worked with Senior Behavioral Health and Covenant Clinic Psychiatry while pursuing her degree. Some day she hopes to complete a masters in business administration.
Fisher has a younger brother and comes from a family of teachers. Her mother is a special education teacher and her stepfather an industrial tech teacher.
“My parents definitely helped me have motivation and drive. I strive to make a difference in life and be accountable,” said Fisher.
She has a variety of interests including crafting, travelling, painting, concerts and anything outdoors. However, most importantly, she looks forward to serving as the LMCC administrator.
