Hidden in Plain Sight program offered at LMCS

Lake Mills Community School, in partnership with the Winnebago County Task Force and Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare, are hosting the Hidden In Plain Sight program, Oct. 23-24, during the parent teacher conferences.
From 3:30–7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, and 2:30–5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, parents and caregivers of youth will have access to take a closer look at items, which includes things that could be used to conceal or promote alcohol or drug use. Many of these items are typical household items, but not usually found in a youth’s bedroom. Participants must be 18 years or older.
Prevention staff from Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare and Winnebago County Task Force will be available to answer questions and help educate adults about these hidden dangers or warning signs that a teen may be using drugs.
The Winnebago County Task Force (WCTF) is a Drug Free Communities grant recipient and receives grant funds to involve and engage local communities to prevent substance use among youth. The mission of the task force is: Community members collaborate to educate, prevent and reduce youth substance use in Winnebago County.
The Winnebago County Task Force meets the third Thursday of every month from Noon-1 p.m. The meetings alternate locations within the county, including Forest City, Lake Mills and Buffalo Center.
