Forest City Rotary Club announces “Dancing for Rotary”
“Dancing for Rotary” will debut in the new Boman Fine Arts Center, March 23, at 7 p.m. The event has a new name, new venue, and new cast of characters but still all the fun and a great night of high quality entertainment you have come to enjoy. Eight couples will dance in competition for three awards- Audience Choice, Fundraising trophy, and the Overall Mirror Ball.
Show organizer Nancy Olson said, “We have some big projects this year that need big funding and we decided to bring the event back and use the built-in tech/lighting and new space at the Boman Fine Arts Center.”
Some of those Rotary projects include: matching funds for a Rotary community grant that will allow local renovations of the Pammel park dugouts, a Rotary International grant that will help plant sustainable bread fruit trees in Haiti, and a fund to help build the club’s third well in Africa.
These along with many ongoing community projects such as, the Rotary Corner mitten fund at the school, sending students to RYLA leadership camp, Neighborhood Food Bank, Shop with a Cop and many more that require a lot of funds. Olson says “we appreciate the support we’ve had from previous years and hope that the crowd comes out to attend the event for such a good cause.”
Four couples from the Rotary Interact Club at the high school will perform: Kennedy Klein and Jacob Olson, Meggie Kleveland and Miciah Krutsinger, Abby Wirtjes and Drake Bang, Caleb Barker and Kallista Larson, dancers from the community include: Magan Krein and Cameron Batchelor, Katie Thul and Brian Lewis, Brett and Allyson Wilson, Nathaniel and Elizabeth Hedin Schmidt.
Tickets will be available from all Rotarians and also can be purchased at the FC Chamber office or MBT/TSB Bank. Seating is limited so be sure to get your tickets early. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. A canned good item for the food bank can also get you an extra voting ticket the night of the event.
