Food and fun program kicks off another year

Lake Mills Area Ministerial Association (LMAMA) is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, on a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times as follows:
Breakfast: LMCS, 102 S. 4th Ave. E., Lake Mills, Monday-Thursday, 8:30-9 a.m.
Lunch: Salem Lutheran Church, 401 S. Lake St., Lake Mills, Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-Noon.
Pastor Bill Peters said that the program provides a valuable service to all children in the Lake Mills area.
He noted, “With many families having both parents working, summertime can be a challenge to ensure that children are receiving proper nutrition during the day.” Peters added that following the guidelines of the free and reduced lunch program at school, the service is open to all—regardless of need. He added that in addition to the nutrition aspect, the program also serves an important socialization role.
