Celebrate Kiester Days this weekend

Kiester will be holding their annual celebration this weekend, June 20-23, with lots of activities for the entire family.
Quilter’s Cottage will be hosting a Material Girls Trunk Show from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Stop by and see all the beautiful quilts on display.
A community meal will be held at the Kiester Community Center from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Afterwards, go and enjoy a free movie at the Kee Theater beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Historical Museum will be open Friday, 4:30-6:30 p.m., and Saturday, 3:30-6:30 p.m.
Friday will feature Cow Chip Bingo, a Singles Cribbage Tournament, a cookout at the Legion by the Boy Scouts, and a street dance with “Led Penny Band” performing at 8:30 p.m. Bring the family and enjoy the fireworks at dusk.
City-wide rummage sales, fleamarket, and a craft and vendors show will be held all day Saturday, along with mini donuts, a food stand, facepainting and hair coloring. Sign up in the morning for the co-ed volleyball tournament or the horseshoe tournament.
The Car and Truck Show will be held from Noon-2 p.m., Saturday, on Main Street in front of the park. There will be door prizes given away, and trophies for first and second place in five different categories. No entry fee will be charged.
The parade begins at 3 p.m. and the bean bag tournament follows at 3:30 p.m. Enjoy the steak and burger fry at the Legion from 5-8 p.m. and then dance off the calories at the street dance featuring “Somethin’ Country,” beginning at 8 p.m.
An omelet breakfast will be held Sunday from 7 a.m.-Noon and the Community Church Service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
