Casino Shares with Community

Worth County Development Authority (WCDA) recently announced their latest round of grant recipients—totaling almost $900,000, to Worth County and regional recipients.
But, according to Assistant General Manager, Scott Smith, that represents only a fraction of the casino’s impact on the area. Smith noted that in 2017, the casino spent 97.3 percent—or $45.6 million—of their regular revenue in the community. Diamond Jo currently employs an average of 386 team members.
The $899,319.99 in grants announced recently, bring the cumulative total since its founding in 2006 to over $50 million.
The almost $900,000 was split between 42 recipients, with the largest amount going to the Worth County Sheriff’s Department ($317,692.05) toward their project to upgrade and improve the communications infrastructure in the county for law enforcement and emergency personnel.
