Candidate forum next Wednesday

With the Nov. 8 election just over four weeks away, the Lake Mills Graphic and Winn-Worth BETCO will be hosting a forum featuring all candidates running in contested races in Winnebago and Worth Counties.
Among those who have confirmed their apearance are: Winnebago County; Sheriff candidates Dave Peterson and Steve Hepperly; Supervisor candidate, Mike Stensrud; Iowa House candidates, Tedd Gassman and Dave Grussing; Iowa Senate candidates; Dennis Guth and Susan Bangert. Worth County; Sheriff Candidates Jay Langenbau, Dan Fank and Mark Wubben; Supervisor candidates, Dave Haugen and Mark Smeby; and, Iowa Senate candidate, Waylon Brown.
Each candidate will be given an opportunity to introduce themselves and talk a little about why they are running for office. All candidates will then be posed several prepared questions, while members of the audience will be asked to write any questions they may have to be presented to the candidates.
It is the desire of organizers to keep the forum as close to 90 minutes as possible, while allowing for many questions to be answered by a representative mix of candidates in attendance.
The candidates have also been invited and encouraged to stick around after the formal portion of the forum, to allow those in the audience to speak at greater length with the candidates, and to ask specific questions of individual candidates.
The forum will be held in the LMCS auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 12, starting at 7 p.m.
