Area youth bound to Heartland Power Cooperative’s Youth Tour
Heartland Power Cooperative, St. Ansgar and Thompson, is pleased to announce its 2018 Youth Tour representatives: Mackenna Pannhoff, St. Ansgar; Josie Popp, Osage; and Tanya Olsen, Forest City. These students will represent the cooperative at the 2018 National Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, an annual all-expense-paid trip to our nation’s capital.
On the tour, they will join more than 1,800 students from co-ops across the country in learning about American history, U.S. government, electric cooperatives, and gain a greater understanding of their role as an American citizen. Applicants completed a quiz and essay questions prior to attending in-person interviews during the final selection Wednesday, April 4.
Each year, Heartland opens this opportunity to any sophomore or junior whose parent(s) or guardian(s) are Heartland Power Cooperative members.
