All-Iowa Opus Choir

Two middle school students from LMCS were selected from among 2600 auditions for the 2019 All-Iowa Opus Choirs. Students in grades five through nine audition from across the state each year for limited spots in the state’s top vocal ensembles for this age category. Aiden Benny, son of James Benny, and Ashley and Ben Mannes, will sing with the seventh/eighth Bass Clef Opus Choir. Ava Menke, daughter of Kyle and Marie Menke, will sing with the fifth and sixth Grade Opus Choir. The students are under the direction of Linda Saxton. The Opus Music Festival will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, the first day of the Iowa All-State Festival held each year on the ISU campus, Ames. Students, directors, parents, and fellow music lovers converge on the campus each year during this festival to hear the state’s top musicians.
