Activities galore at Puckerbrush Days

Puckerbrush Days, Forest City’s annual community celebration, will be held Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 21. There will be a number of fun events and activities going on around town. All street dances offer free admission and are open to all ages
Headlining the weekend of entertainment is Pianopalooza, a Des Moines-based piano cover group with a full band that covers music from the 1950s to the current hits of today. Opening for them will be Levi Smith, singer and guitar player from Mason City. Saturday evening, July 20, performers include Forest City singer Sydney Pederson, Mason City singer/songwriter Juni West, and a Mankato, Minn.-based indie rock quartet Good Night Gold Dust.
The majority of the events are held downtown near the courthouse square. The event is planned and coordinated by a volunteer committee under the Forest City Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber director, Kathy Rollefson commented, “I think every town should have an annual celebration. Some people may have moved away, or are in town for a family reunion, and this gives them a place to meet and give them more things to do while they are here.”
