2018 All-State High School vocalist
Lydia Saxton, a senior at Lake Mills High School, has attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school vocalists by being selected as a member of the 2018 Iowa All-State Chorus. Students selected for membership in this prestigious ensemble represent the top one percent of Iowa high school vocalists. In addition, Lydia was selected as a solo semi-finalist. Final solo auditions will take place at the festival.
Lydia is the daughter of Linda and Marty Saxton. She is a member of the LMHS chorus and studies under the direction of Linda Saxton. This is the first time in 29 years that a Lake Mills student has achieved this honor three consecutive years, having been accepted into the All-State Chorus in 2016 and 2017, as well.
The 72nd Iowa All State Festival Concert will take place, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University campus. Iowa Public Television will record the concert for re-broadcast at 7 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22. Please see the IPTV website for additional broadcast times.
