“A Dark and Stormy Night” performance, Nov. 1
The Lake Mills Vocal Music Department will present their annual Fall Concert, Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. The concert’s theme is, “A Dark and Stormy Night.” Middle School members will be performing entertaining songs including, “Things That Go Bump in the Night,” “In the Sorcerer’s Hall,” “Windy Nights,” and “Jack’s Beanstalk Stomp.” The High School chorus will feature Iowa composer, Elaine Hagenberg’s “Music in the Night,” the African American spiritual “I been in the Storm” and the theme song from “The Phantom of the Opera.” The concert will culminate with the 160-member mass chorus singing Greg Gilpin’s “How Can I Keep from Singing?” The concert is under the direction of Linda Saxton, accompanied by pianist Mindy Sletten. The public is encouraged to attend this free concert.
