Gabble Unplugged

This is admittedly a weird name for a column that appears exclusively online, but what can I say. I am not very creative.

Here you will find a variety of thoughts and musings on a wide variety of issues and topics, ranging from continued thoughts on subject which have been addressed in my print column to totally stand-alone pieces.

I think I will like this blog format for a number of reasons. 1. I do not have a certain number of inches to fill, or pare down to. 2. I do not have to adhere to a deadline, meaning if something comes to mind on Saturday, it does not have to wait until the following Wednesday to share it with readers. If I have several topics I would like to address in one day—I can do so. 3. I can and  will let my hair down here a little more than I do in the paper (by the way I have been letting my hair grow out, we will see how long I can stand it). 4. It is easier for readers to engage in feedback and conversation. I am sure there are more that will become apparent as we go along this journey.

I truly hope that this becomes a place that readers of the paper, and non-readers alike will come for thoughts, hopefully laughs and other emotions that will leave you confirming your belief that I am an idiot, or a genius (likely somewhere in between, but hopefully closer to the later). I hope that we can engage in discussions and together discover thoughts and ideas that we could not through the print medium.
