Bob McLaughlin, Lake Mills, and his grandson, Owen, celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in style, putting on their kilts  and tam-o-shanters for the occasion. Owen is the three-month-old son of Curran and Skye McLaughlin, Garner.

The weather the last few weeks has not been pleasant for travel or outdoor activities, but it has produced some stunning photo opportunities around the Lake Mills area. This was taken just east of Joice.  
While still windy and bitterly cold Tuesday, Lake Mills awoke to a clear blue sky and a sunrise featuring sundogs, following the Monday blizzard.
A quiet start to the day, quickly changed as snow began rapidly accumulating shortly after 8 a.m. in Lake Mills.

Cold temperatures continue across North Iowa today, as evidenced by these Sun Dogs peeking around the north side water tower in Lake Mills.
